  My recent stay at the Mermaid Beach Motor Inn was the worst accommodation I have ever stayed at. The room that my wife & I stayed in was dilapidated & old, curtains were threadbare & dirty with holes in it letting in light, covering the window to the front highway (not that you could see the it through the dirty window). The TV wall mount was broken so TV was just left leaning up against the bench. The bed cover was covered in stains to which for health reasons we refused to sleep under, thinking we could turn the "OLD" air conditioner to heat to stay warm,but surprise surprise in just blew cold! The vanity basin was actually located in the room near the front door not in the bathroom. The sliding door to the bathroom fell off it lopsided runner on seven occasions. I used to have a saying of "I have stayed in worse" but on this occasion it wasn't the case. $135 a night was an absolute rip off, avoid this place at all costs, would prefer a tent than have to stay here!
